A New Layer

He set up everything with a good friend of our’s that is also a wonderful photographer, Constance Jaeggi making it so special!

Talk about a whirlwind of emotions over the past couple of weeks!  There have been so many good ones including my boyfriend becoming my fiancé!  I cannot tell you all how excited I am about the whole thing, but I catch myself thinking do I get to do this? Is it ok if I do this? Is it acceptable to have fun with it and make it extra special?  There is a little history behind the thoughts which we won’t get into, but, bottom line, this is going to be my second marriage.  I wonder what is appropriate for the situation, but it comes down to what makes us happy and who cares what people think.  In saying this, it is extremely hard to put that out of your mind.  I will also add that being from Mississippi originally, puts the “southern lady” aspect into play along with southern traditions that I can’t help but think about.

I questioned even writing this entry because I want to stay away from controversy, but really it is about learning, growing up, and finding what is really right for me not about the controversy.  I think I have done that in both my personal life and my professional life at this point.  It isn’t an easy path, but on a personal level it really is easy. And I am so thankful to have found him!  He is truly the best!  He makes me feel better about enjoying the whole experience and not worry about what is right or not right to do in the situation.

Truth is, despite the hard times, I would not have it any other way at this point.  I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it, and so many experiences that shaped me wouldn’t have happened.  So, as I said I do not want to bring up any bad just mostly try to center myself on all of the good.  This I think will help me not think about what I should or shouldn’t do in the course of planning the wedding.  That was all probably a roundabout way to get to the point I meant to make, but hey that is how we work things out most of the time, I think.

Its so perfect!

On the artistic front, I have been working on a few new things and looking forward to a project that is on the list to do soon.  I like when people test me with things that I have not done before even though it is a little intimidating.  Luckily with paint, you can always put another layer on and change everything completely.  You can also keep making small changes over time and never see the things you think are flaws underneath.  Much like how we are shaped through life!  See what I did there…. ;)
