I am not sure where to start with all of the new things in the works in this little studio and in our lives! I am excited to get things going with this email campaign to keep you all up to date on everything. I plan to have some VIP goodies later on for my email buddies as well later on as I get in the swing of things.
I took on this huge project last summer during the pandemic, I got lost in quite a few other projects and never wrote about the experience! I have to say at first I was really intimidated by the whole thing, I had never done anything on that large of a scale or on an uneven surface like the walls of this restaurant. After a lot of self doubt and layers upon layers of paint, I finished the five, six foot tall paintings. Once the project was complete I was pretty dang satisfied with what I had accomplished. There are things that I have since worked on to improve my technique, that is part of the fun of it all.
I absolutely love design work, I always have. I don’t get a chance to test my skills all that often, but when I do I enjoy every bit of it! I was able to take the time to put so much love into this perfect little nursery for our angel. Andy enjoyed it a little bit too I think! It ended up completely different than what I originally imagined, but it is even better. I just feel good going into the room and I hope that our little girl will feel the same way one day!
We have been extra busy around here with both studio projects and now a growing family! We just welcomed our perfect girl, Meriwhether Lynn Buitron, came into the world May 11th at 8:04pm weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces! We are absolutely in love with her!
I have been told by more than a few people that I am an over-thinker… I have no argument to say otherwise. I do think about things until I aggravate myself even. With that said, it is the perfect intro for this blog post!
This post is mostly just to share the gorgeous photos that I was able to take with the super talented Lauren Mclntire! She was wonderful to work with and so creative. When building a business things like nice photos are so important even though sometimes we get so busy we want to speed past those kind of details. I have so many ideas for future shoots and future design work but until then I hope you all enjoy these photos!
Where to even start…. It has been so long since I have put anything on paper but here goes nothing! It has been quite the year. 2020 is absolutely nothing like I imagined it would be, or probably anyone thought it would be. The “Planners” of the world are struggling right now because, well, it is pretty impossible to plan much of anything at the moment. Personally, I like some structure in my life. It keeps me focused, but at the same time with this little growing business, the horses, and other big life changes, structure is out the window! I have learned that it is ok and to focus on all of the exciting things going on rather than a structured schedule.
The is more of a personal entry, with a little informative twist. I am enjoying the wedding planning process and just wanted to share my experience! 2019 was a challenge. It included a lot of great memories but also some heartbreaking events. I guess most years have ups and downs but it seemed that there was a great deal of loss for our family in 2019.
Ok, let’s talk about this crazy cutting horse industry. It is the early mornings, the tough horses, the struggle of controlling the variables, and the over all mental game that should chase us off, but, ultimately, each challenge keeps us hooked.
Sometimes when you have been out of something for a while it seems extra difficult just to start somewhere. I have been relatively active on social media, but when it comes to my blog and my website it has been way too long. I am just going to dive in and let the chips fall where they may!
